Spring Training Camps with ChangeUp Baseball Announced!

2022 Centennial Little League Spring Training

CBA (ChangeUp Baseball Academy) and Centennial Little League are for a fourth year offering spring training clinics to help kids within their league prepare for their season. We are excited to run this program for you again and below are the dates and times we are running the 4 week training. COVID-19 Restrictions Exemption Program in place, please see Alberta Government site for more information. Participants 12 and over must show proof of vaccination or show negative test before each training session.

4 week Spring training times and dates: 1 session per week:

Total cost $75 including GST/athlete. **Registration deadline is Feb.28/2022**

  • Minors: Mondays March 7,14,21 and 28th 10 kids max: 6-7:25pm
  • Minors: Tuesdays March 8,15,22 and 29th 10 kids max: 6-7:25pm
  • Minors: Wednesdays March 9,16,23 and 30th 10 kids max: 6-7:25pm

Total of 30 kids can sign up for Minors Spring Training.

  • Majors: Mondays March 7,14,21 and 28th 10 kids max: 7:30-8:55pm
  • Majors: Tuesdays March 8,15,22 and 29th 10 kids max: 7:30-8:55pm
  • Majors: Wednesdays March 9,16,23 and 30th 10 kids max: 7:30-8:55pm

Total of 30 kids can sign up for Majors Spring Training.

  • Junior/Senior: Thursdays March 10,17,24 and 31st 10 kids max: 6-7:25pm AND 10 kids max: 7:30-8:55pm

Total of 20 kids can sign up for Junior/Senior Spring Training.

 

Below is the breakdown of the 4 week program.

1. Week: Throwing

  • -  Dynamic warmup (stretch)

  • -  Throwing progression (Glove tuck drill)

  • -  Playing catch(working on throwing mechanics, chest to target, reach out front, glove tuck, finish back

    pocket)

  • -  Good, perfect throwing drill (fun game)

  1. Week: Fielding(Infield)

    • -  Dynamic warmup (stretch)

    • -  Play catch

    • -  Ready position (talk about how this looks, glove down, balls of feet, stick vs funnel)

    • -  Footwork drills

    • -  Ground balls (squared up, forehand, backhand)

  2. Week: Hitting/Base running:

    • -  Dynamic warmup (stretch)

    • -  Tee work, wiffle ball, live front toss

    • -  Base running (explosiveness out of the box, rounding first, lead offs and secondary’s)

    • -  Running relay drill (fun game)

  3. Week: Fielding/Hitting

    • -  Dynamic warmup (stretch)

    • -  Play catch

    • -  Ground/fly balls (foot and glove work)

    • -  Tee work, front toss

    • -  Final night preparing athletes for their season
