Umpires

Having qualified umpires is an integral part of our baseball league, ensuring safety, competitiveness, consistency, and fairness. Umpires are generally made up of players and parents from within our league. Centennial Little League provides umpires for Juniors, Majors, and Minors levels. CLL will offer a two day umpire program taught by upper level professional umpires through the local district. (This program is run in the spring, usually March/April. See News  for current details.) This certification program is completely funded by the Centennial Little League program.

Those who are interested in umpiring for Centennial Little League should be a minimum of 11 years old, have a good knowledge of baseball, and attend the umpire certification training.

Every year ALL umpires, will have the opportunity to attend a District 3 training program. Centennial Little League pays according to the level of training.

CLL supplies umpires who complete the training program with an official shirt, umpire cap, a ball bag, plate duster and counter. Chest protectors, face masks and shin guards are also supplied. Each umpire is required to supply their own grey pants and black shoes.
