This evening the following email was released to all members:
Due to restrictions imposed from the City of Calgary on April 3rd in their response to COVID-19, Centennial Little League will unfortunately not be able to host our Spring Baseball Season in our normal April to June time slot. Currently under Little League International and Little League Canada directives, we are being asked to consider alternative timelines for our season, pushing it into the summer and fall months.
As this is a departure from our regular season timelines, we felt it prudent to put it to our membership to let us know if they are able to participate should the season proceed under the potential different timelines as noted above. Should you be willing to adjust our season into the summer and possibly fall months (assuming we can get approval to access our diamonds from the City of Calgary) then we will keep your registration open at this time. Also depending on response levels, certain divisions may participate with other District 3 associations to ensure we can provide a full season. While Centennial Little League is doing everything in our power to have a T-Ball and Baseball season this year, should we be unable to proceed, identical options as provided below will be offered should we not be able to host a season.
However should you and your family not be able to participate in the adjusted time frame, we would like to provide you with options regarding your registration. Your first option would be to have your 2020 Season registration be applied towards the 2021 Season. We would provide you with a Promo Code in advance of Early Bird Registration next year that will cover your full registration rate. We will still refund your 2020 Volunteer Fee, and we will charge you a new fee for the 2021 Season.
Your second option would be to have your registration refunded, less a $20 administrative fee to cover costs that we can not recoup as part of your registration for this season (Credit Card Processing, licensing, etc..). Should you choose the credit for the 2021 Season, and choose not to play, we will refund your registration under these same terms.
Should you choose to either apply your Registration for the 2021 season, or the refund - we can not promise our ability to accommodate you should you change your mind about playing the Summer Season.
Additionally, if you have multiple children registered, and your answer differs per child (1 wants to play Summer, the other you want a credit for the 2021 season/refund) please respond to this questionnaire multiple times for each group of children (Summer vs. Credit/Refund)
We will be collecting answers to this questionnaire until April 30th. Any Refund processing will begin shortly after that and may take some time due to controls and limitations on our software with respect to refunds that are built in to avoid fraudulent behaviour.
We would also like to remind you that all CLL Board Members are volunteers and we are continuing to do our best to address everyones concerns in a timely manner. Thank you for your understanding and patience - and we look forward to hearing from all of you.
